Jodi is waiting for Marco to come to her office. Today is feedback day and she has the Feedback Sandwich formula open on her desk.
Marco arrives and plunks himself down in the chair opposite Jodi, submitting himself reluctantly to what is about to occur. “I’m glad you’re here,” says Jodi, getting the ball rolling on an upbeat note. “Let’s talk about your presentation to the team yesterday. You were very enthusiastic about the project’s progress, and I also thought that….” Jodi stops as she notices Marco slumping in his chair, eyes cast downwards. “What’s wrong?” she asks.
My coaching client Sophia had explored a business opportunity with a franchising organization and was very excited to tell me about it. It combined many of the activities that she found motivating; it would enable her to work from home, set her own schedule, work in a people job and use her communication skills. It seemed great. She could see herself doing all those things and being happy.
Sofia contacted them to arrange attending their open house and was dismayed to find that there was no room left in the one next week and she would have to wait a month before being able to attend the next one. Then two days later they phoned to say a space had opened up and she could go right away. She also told me about another similar business opportunity but up to this point had yet to explore it in any great detail, because she was very motivated by the first one.
Here’s where I intervened. “Did you have an image of working in this business?” I asked. “How did it feel?” “It was great!” she replied, “I could see the whole thing.” “Did you have an image of the second business opportunity and how that might be?” I asked. “Well no” she said, “but when a space in the open house for the first one opened up, I thought it was a sign this was the opportunity for me.” “Perhaps it was a sign” I said “that they really want you to buy this business.”
“A practical, insightful, and at the same time, rigorous program. I have a much better appreciation and deeper understanding of the patterns and how to use them. It will certainly enhance my communication and add to what I have already gained and know.I will be incorporating the LAB Profile® as part of my programs.” A great program! Thank you so much, Shelle and coaches.”
I consider Shelle to be a genius in how to motivate people using language. Unlike traditional motivational speakers who only appeal to a narrow, “approved” band of human motivation. Shelle incorporates it all.
“I learned of Shelle purely by accident. I was rooting through a box of books at a garage sale when the bottom of the box gave way and “Words That Change Minds” fell out. The book was in quite poor condition and had been personalized by the previous owner. I bought it, read it, then bought myself a new copy a few months ago, which I personalized and I’m still re-reading it continuously and gaining new insights each time.”
An excellent programme. It will help me to improve my relationships with friends and colleagues and understand them and their behaviour better. Our coaches were extremely helpful and supportive. We could not have had better.

“The program is complete and well-balanced. I plan to deliver LAB Profile training with a subset of patterns and even practitioner courses. I’ve gotten many useful tips to improve my communication in a more effective way and deliver better presentations.”
“Amazing life-changing experience that was multi-layered in many different ways. Astonishing – Fun. Learned a lot!! Thank you!”
“Since I completed the LAB Profile Consultant/Trainer program, the LAB Profile® has become THE centerpiece of my offering, I would say 75% of my business is training based on the LAB Profile® (sales, customer service, leadership/people management) and I´m constantly working on new applications …. My customers love it!”

Of all the NLP courses I’ve attended, the LAB Profile® Certification has proved the most lucrative. Since I took the program, it’s paid for itself several times over. Often people in organizations don’t have a vocabulary to talk about the language they use. Using LAB Profile® means we can discuss sophisticated uses of language without the need for jargon.

I enjoyed the program very much. A good mixture of teamwork and partner work, well structured. I love Shelle’s style, very authentic! Influencing in a very positive way. I’m motivated to stay in contact and learn more from Shelle.

“Shelle is an entertaining and engaging speaker with a sparkling stage presence and a winning way with words – but her true gift is her ability to talk about the issues – the ones nobody else is brave enough to put in the spotlight.”
