Jodi is waiting for Marco to come to her office. Today is feedback day and she has the Feedback Sandwich formula open on her desk.
Marco arrives and plunks himself down in the chair opposite Jodi, submitting himself reluctantly to what is about to occur. “I’m glad you’re here,” says Jodi, getting the ball rolling on an upbeat note. “Let’s talk about your presentation to the team yesterday. You were very enthusiastic about the project’s progress, and I also thought that….” Jodi stops as she notices Marco slumping in his chair, eyes cast downwards. “What’s wrong?” she asks.
My coaching client Sophia had explored a business opportunity with a franchising organization and was very excited to tell me about it. It combined many of the activities that she found motivating; it would enable her to work from home, set her own schedule, work in a people job and use her communication skills. It seemed great. She could see herself doing all those things and being happy.
Sofia contacted them to arrange attending their open house and was dismayed to find that there was no room left in the one next week and she would have to wait a month before being able to attend the next one. Then two days later they phoned to say a space had opened up and she could go right away. She also told me about another similar business opportunity but up to this point had yet to explore it in any great detail, because she was very motivated by the first one.
Here’s where I intervened. “Did you have an image of working in this business?” I asked. “How did it feel?” “It was great!” she replied, “I could see the whole thing.” “Did you have an image of the second business opportunity and how that might be?” I asked. “Well no” she said, “but when a space in the open house for the first one opened up, I thought it was a sign this was the opportunity for me.” “Perhaps it was a sign” I said “that they really want you to buy this business.”
Shelle’s keynote ‘Conversational Coaching’ was absolutely fascinating!
“A giant thank you Shelle for a fantastic program. The feedback has been excellent. I’ve already received emails and calls from the team explaining how they’ve used the material which is probably the best feedback we could get!”

Very motivating and intensive program. I adore Shelle’s style in presenting, her sense of humour and energy flow.
I heard and saw you speak in Leeds and I would like to say thank you for this and tell you how much I enjoyed listening to you. I have purchased your book and I am very much enjoying reading–it has enabled me to consider Meta Programs in a whole new light!

Shelle’s provocative and dynamic presentation style kept the group of mediators in attendance (many of whom are hard to please lawyers) completely engrossed. Shelle provided us with a whole new perspective on the topic and left the audience thirsting for more. Shelle has the special ability to both challenge and engage her audience. A true professional!

A wonderful program that is valuable and insightful on both a professional and personal level. I will be able to make an immediate application to my presentation skills and the course materials are designed for future application in coaching and interviewing managers for development programs. The best workshop I have ever attended in my professional career. Shelle is without equal; truly unique.
“Shelle, the influencing tools you present, work. You use what you teach. You demonstrate how to reach rapport with people and give my group tools that help them deal with difficult people.”

“This program is a constant reminder of just how poorly customers are being treated today and how we can obtain a competitive advantage by treating them well. It will help you understand and communicate with your customers in a whole new way – and be more successful as a result.”

“I’ve trained with many trainers in the UK and in North America, and
nobody seems to know their subject as deeply as Shelle knows hers.“
